We are a small, friendly choir under the directorship of Jeremy Harbottle, singing for pleasure and to produce two or three concerts a year, which are performed locally in Stokesley. We sing a wide range of repertoire from Baroque to 21st Century, secular and sacred, as well as fun pieces from musical theatre.
A Heartfelt Thank You from Stokesley and District Choral Society
We would like to extend our sincere thanks for your tremendous support of our concerts this year, all were sell outs! It has been a joy to share our music with you, and we are deeply grateful for your continued enthusiasm.
In April, we were thrilled to bring together six choirs and a full orchestra for an unforgettable performance of Carmina Burana and Toward the Unknown Region at Stockton Baptist Church. In November, we delighted you with The Magic of Musicals, and in December, our Christmas concert was made even more special by the addition of The Christmas Strings and the wonderful children from Roseberry Academy. Thanks to your generosity, a collection during the concert raised £500 for Zoe’s Place.
Looking ahead to 2025, rehearsals for our April concert will begin on Monday January 6 at St. Joseph’s Church Hall, Stokesley, at 7.30pm. We will be performing Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and John Rutter’s Requiem on 26th April in Stokesley Methodist Church. If you’re interested in joining us for these wonderful pieces, the start of the term is a great time to get involved. New singers are always welcome, and you can try us out for a couple of weeks before committing. We are particularly looking for basses and tenors to join our ranks! We hope you’ve enjoyed listening to our concerts as much as we’ve enjoyed performing them.
